I was just showing my roommate the Illustration and Design page on the Dawson College website, since we were having a discussion about our past art/design programs, when I came across the program's promotional video. I decided to have a look and SURPRISE! There's multiple shots of me working on my frog character sculpture in second year. I forgot how much fun sculpting is.

More Thesis Posters!
So here is the final version of "The Importance of Being Ernest" and my new "Faust" poster. These will be my last posters for my thesis since I've decided to switch it up a bit and illustrate book covers for this class (there's only so much room for posters on my display board for my graduation exhibit in April.) I had a lot of fun with these and I'm pretty happy with how they turned out considering I was lost the first few weeks of the semester figuring out how I was going to approach them. Again, I'm always open to comments and constructive criticism:)

Illustration for Tennis Article
In my editorial class we each had to chose an article to illustrate (without full knowledge of what the article was about) for our first project. I thought it would be fun to chose one about tennis titled "Risque Business." So here's the final...definitely risque and a lot of fun to illustrate I might add.

Rethink Process: Part 3-the final illustration
Final illustration for grad show. Incase you guys didn't see the other parts of my process (where I explained what this illustration is all about), I had to illustrate a stat about my illustration class for a grad book Sheridan is putting out. My stat was that 93% of our graduating class likes drawing in 2D and 7% of us like drawing in 3D....but, I'm kind of enjoying both!
Rethink Process
So we have this grad project to illustrate a stat about our class. My stat was that 93% of us like drawing in 2D and 7% like drawing in 3D. I chose to do the 2D part in collage and pen and the 3D part using photoshop and illustrator. I thought a violin would be a good metaphor to use and the bow next to it to signify the percentages.

Characters
So here are a three new pieces from a character assignment for school. We had to illustrate a number of characters from a list so here's my avitar, nonna (italian grandmother), and hipster. The last is a a girl on the metro wasn't for any school assignment but I wanted to try using blue face tones....don't ask me why, I just woke up today wanting to play with colour :)

(From the top down) the first was from a small black and white photo of a man smoking. There was something about his look that was really intriguing so I thought I'd use it as inspiration for a piece. The second is a sketch of my mom. One great thing about holidays at my parent's place is that there are always people around to doodle. I also had some fun with the baboon image, i just had to draw him when I saw it....it's the super intense eyes....a little creepy. The last image is more narrative depicting the tortoise and the hare in Aesop's fable. I like how the sketch turned out so a final piece is in the making.
